WSWHE BOCES is committed to providing students and staff a safe learning environment. In an effort to proactively respond to potential threats within our school community, we have adopted the anonymous reporting application, STOPit.

Criminal Justice Studies (CJS) students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center held their annual mock trial on December 1 and 2, 2022. It was, “Robbery: A Mock Trial” by Robert J. Rader.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) students showed thanks this holiday season by helping their community. On November 22, Culinary Arts students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center and the Saratoga Wilton Kiwanis Club packed 120 holiday food baskets for local families in need in what they call “Operation Turkey”.

On November 2, 2022 the Culinary Arts and Hospitality and Human Services program students at the Southern Adirondack Education Center started preparations for Hometown Thanksgiving, an event that provides hundreds to thousands (over the years) of free Thanksgiving meals to the Glens Falls community and surrounding areas.

Four students from the Southern Adirondack Education Center brought home a team bronze award as well as individual awards from the 95th National FFA Convention & Expo which included competing in the National Forestry Career Development Event (CDE) in Indianapolis, IN from October 25-30, 2022.

We need your input on our Women in Trades Initiative to help inspire more young women to get into the trades and consider non-traditional career paths.

The WSWHE BOCES has a new program this school year at the F. Donalds Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs. The Small Animal Science program is a two-year program based on national industry standards, using the Cornell University veterinary curriculum. Area clinics reached out to the administration last year to see about starting the program, and the response from students has been overwhelmingly positive.

8th and 9th graders checked out local career opportunities and met Globetrotter Firefly Fisher.

SkillsUSA has awarded a grant to the SkillsUSA chapter at the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, thanks to its longtime partnership with Lowe’s Home Improvement. SkillsUSA and Lowe’s have teamed up for 16 years to support career and technical education (CTE) classrooms across the nation.

The WSWHE BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) program celebrated 260 high school seniors from the Southern Adirondack Education Center (SAEC) who received completion certificates on June 16, 2022.
