WSWHE BOCES Students Showcase Excellence at 2025 NYS SkillsUSA Regional Competition

This prestigious event brought together the top competitors from technical schools across northeastern New York. In addition to WSWHE BOCES, students from Capital Region BOCES, Champlain Valley Educational Services, and Questar III also participated in the regional competition.

The SkillsUSA competitions assess students’ proficiency in their respective fields of study, including criminal justice, cosmetology, HVAC-R, advertising design, food preparation, carpentry, welding, auto repair, first aid/CPR, and much more. Additionally, students are evaluated on essential workplace skills such as public speaking, interview techniques, and presentation abilities. Each competition involves a timed assignment, and the contests are judged by leaders from various industries.

The winners of this regional competition will advance to the New York State SkillsUSA competition, which will take place from April 23 to 25, 2025, at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.
