Women in Trades Day at ECCA Inspires Future Leaders

On March 12, 2025, the Early College Career Academy (ECCA) hosted an exciting and empowering event - Women in Trades Day - at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury. Nearly 100 students from grades 7-12 were immersed in a day of learning, empowerment and connection. It showcased the bright futures that lie ahead for young women interested in exploring careers in the skilled trades and technology fields.

The event brought together students from several local schools. These students spent time interacting with ECCA students, instructors, and industry partners, learning about the many paths women can take in the trades and the various opportunities available through ECCA programs.

One key highlight of the day showcased how ECCA programs provide students not only with the chance to earn college credits but also internationally recognized industry certifications.

Women from several local industries were also on hand to share their professional journeys and provide insights into career opportunities within their fields. They spoke about their experiences and highlighted the diverse, rewarding opportunities available to women in the trades.

The ECCA two-year programs offer five pathways: Advanced Manufacturing, Business and Entrepreneurship, IT/ Computer Networking, New Media, and Pathways to Teaching.
